Modern Foreign Languages

Modern Foreign Languages departments in the Bracknell Forest Partnership schools bring the Curriculum to life through creative and inspiring teaching of French and Spanish.

All our schools include 6th form, so there is the opportunity to work with a whole variety of key stages and ability groups.

We have very good facilities and the use of technology, including interactive whiteboards, visualisers (projectors) and microphones enrich the learning experience of all those who study French and Spanish.

The sharing of resources and ideas are encouraged in all departments and this helps to develop and further expand the teaching methods and pedagogies of MFL to raise outcomes for our learners.

Learning modern foreign languages is as much about developing cultural awareness as about teaching vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation.

In MFL departments across the partnership teaching with total immersion in the target language is common; the goal is to teach students to feel confident in their application of their language skills in a variety of situations and to develop spontaneity in the productive skills of speaking and writing.

You could also have the opportunity to get involved in extra-curricular clubs, visits and exchange programmes, which we highly regard as excellent opportunities to bring their language learning to life in authentic settings.
