This training programme is a one-year school based full-time route into teaching leading to the award of Qualified Teacher Status, with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education academic qualification and credits towards a Masters degree.
You will have a host school, but also be part of a wider community of trainee teachers across all the partnership schools. Your training will be carried out in conjunction with University of Reading. The aim of all involved in the partnership is to train excellent practitioners who have a positive impact on the learning of pupils. You will take ownership of your development during your first year and establish the skills to allow you to reflect on your own learning to enable you to continuously improve during the training year and throughout your career.
We provide an outstanding support network from highly trained mentors and experienced practitioners along with the opportunity to teach in a selection of local schools who share a long-term commitment to developing the next generation of teachers. Successful applicants will follow a programme that, alongside classroom teaching, includes lesson observation, training within a host school, partnership based training days and time spent at University.
After the course you will be in an ideal situation to apply for suitable vacancies in any of the partnership schools and if successful, put your training into practice to support Bracknell Forest pupils in their learning.
