This Post Graduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) in History 36WT course leads to the award of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). It is identical to the University of Reading’s course V1X1.
Applicants to our course will be interviewed by The Bracknell Forest Partnership and, if successful, train in two of our ITE Hub schools. They will become members of the University and follow the same training as the University students.
History is no longer a simple memory test of Kings, Queens and battles. Across the Bracknell Forest Partnership, (University of Reading ITE Hub) History is taught in a dynamic and vibrant way with all schools offering their own, tailor-made programmes of study designed to meet the needs of and inspire their students.
A compulsory subject at Key Stage 3 and a very popular option at GCSE and A Level, trainees will have the opportunity to teach a diverse range of topics across the secondary curriculum as well as taking part in the wide number of extra-curricular opportunities that the different departments offer including trips and visits, re-enactments and hosting guest speakers.
